Handmade one-of-a-kind cyanotype prints by Keith Dotson

Handmade one-of-a-kind cyanotype prints by Keith Dotson

Most of the photographs I make are premium inks on museum quality paper, or traditional black and white photographs, printed in wet process chemistry on real silver gelatin papers. But, I also offer alternative process prints on my website.

Currently I have listings for cyanotypes and instant photographs (Polaroids).

Dead flower, cyanotype on watercolor paper. Approximately 3.5 inches square. Sold matted and mounted.
Dead flower, cyanotype on watercolor paper. Approximately 3.5 inches square. Sold matted and mounted. $140.00.

The common denominator of all these types of prints is that they were personally handmade by me. The paper was coated with chemistry by me. The image was exposed in the sun with a contact negative by me, and the print was processed and washed, and sometimes toned by me.

Each print in this gallery, though it may be part of an edition, is unique because no two copies of this type of print can ever be exact. Prints will vary because the brightness of the sun has changed, or the temperature of the chemistry may have changed, or the coating on the paper may be slightly different than a previous batch.

So, while I highly recommend my silver gelatin prints, if you want a truly one-of-a-kind handmade gem for yourself or as a gift, consider one of my alternative prints.
