“Civilizations” is a magnificent PBS series about art and history currently airing on Netflix. Season 1, episode 6, entitled “Paradise on Earth,” and is all about the art of the landscape. It illustrates the history and variety of the landscape in art across time and around the globe.
In an era when our society has become increasingly crass and inward-looking, programs like Civilizations remind us of humankind’s rich legacy of culture and creativity, and also, how intertwined we are as a global community — and that we always have been.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
