I highly recommend that you stop what you’re doing and go listen to these photography-related episodes of The Lonely Palette podcast
As you may know, I recently started recording a podcast about fine art photography, from a photographer’s point of view. I can’t say it’s easy, and I’m not sure how well it’s going.
But what I can say is that I now have a model to aspire to. This art history podcast, The Lonely Palette, is brilliant, insightful, thoughtful and always interesting. Host Tamar Avishai begins by interviewing unidentified bystanders at exhibitions for their comments on a particular piece of art. Then, she does an in-depth exploration and discussion about that one piece of art.
It’s a great art podcast in general, but she occasionally covers photographers. Those episodes I am recommending here. They are well worth a listen if you’re interested in these photographers or in the history of photography.
