Fine art photographer Keith Dotson gives the full experience of visiting the George Eastman Museum in Rochester
Two part video series includes the exhibitions spaces, the cafe, and the historic mansion where George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak Company, actually lived.
This is the museum built connected to the former home of George Eastman — the founder of Eastman Kodak Company. The museum is renowned for its expertise in all types of photographic processes and its astounding collection of cameras and historic prints. It’s been on my bucket list for years and I finally made an opportunity to go visit.
My goal is to give you a true sense of what it’s like to visit the museum in its entirety.
In part one, we will see some of the old photographs from the permanent collection, and look at some quite important cameras.
In part two, we will go over and do a thorough walk through of Eastman’s astounding mansion, where we will see his lavish furnishings, his private living spaces, and some of the family possessions. Then we will go outside and see some of the gardens on the property.
At the time I visited, tickets for non-members were $18.00.
