Bur oak trees produce the largest acorns of any North American oak tree (and they’re fuzzy!)

On my hike today I picked up these two huge bur oak acorns with distinctive fuzzy caps. I decided to bring them back to the studio for a still life.

I found these on the way to photograph autumnal trees along a creekside. Below is a short video of the leaves falling from the trees into the water.
