In this video we observe and discuss the camera obscura effect I found inside a room in an abandoned building.

A few days ago, I published a video based around a road trip along Alabama back roads in search of abandoned buildings. Only after I published the video did it occur to me that I had inadvertently captured a crazy camera obscura effect inside a darkened room in an abandoned old building.

Camera obscura is a Latin term meaning “darkened chamber,” and the principle is at the heart of photography. It’s the basis for making photographs with pinhole cameras, and with the addition of a lens you have the basics of a modern camera.
