I’m posing with the biggest tree I’ve ever seen

Did you ever unexpectedly see a celebrity or famous musician somewhere in public, and get a rush of excitement from the experience? That’s kind of how I felt standing beside this giant old tree near Charleston, South Carolina.

This ancient tree is like a superstar! I just had to get my photo taken with it. Look how it dwarfs me. Imagine all the history that has happened since this big oak was a sapling. It certainly predates the establishment of the US. I photographed lots of great trees on this trip to Charleston.
