Texas Monthly dredged up an old photo I shot in Houston back in the early 80s, for an article about the Montrose / Westheimer neighborhood, back when it was “colorful.” I have fond memories of the interesting people I met in Houston of the early 80s, when I was studying art there. It was a great time to be in Houston.

Below are other photos taken in the early 1980s at the Westheimer Street Festival at the same time as the one featured on Texas Monthly, and other places around the city. These images were shot on color slide film and scanned on my desktop scanner. I love the look and color of this slide film.
