Back in late 2008, in the heart of the Great Recession, I got a message from Urban Outfitters asking to sell my photograph “Public Market, Seattle.” It was my first experience with image licensing, and ushered in a whole new aspect to my fine art photography career. I have since made many licensing deals but UO will always be the first.
