How Does a Print From an 8-Megapixel Camera Look in a High-Resolution Print Today?

How Does a Print From an 8-Megapixel Camera Look in a High-Resolution Print Today?

This short video shows an 11 x 14-inch print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta photo paper, shot with an 8-MP Olympus 4/3 camera

I recently made this 11 x 14-inch print on on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta photo paper for a client and I was really happy with the results. I thought it might be of interest to other photographers to see the print in detail, because it was made from a photograph shot in 2005 with an Olympus E-300, an 8-MP camera with a 4/3 sensor.

This was my first DSLR and I was so excited to use it. I was just beginning to get serious about photography and the Olympus E-300 provided exceptional image quality and good lenses at a reasonable price. I owned several more Olympus 4/3 cameras before opting for cameras with larger sensors.

The moral of this story is that those of us with a long history and deep archive of older images shouldn’t be afraid to dust off those older files and make prints.
