Thousands of people saw my black and white photographs weekly, but probably didn’t realize it
I was fortunate to have six of my photographs selected for the set design of ABCFamily’s weekly TV show “Melissa and Joey.” Three of them appeared only rarely as part of the upstairs hallway set, but the other three were shown weekly, framed and hanging on the wall of the main living room staircase. The location was so prominent that my pictures were part of the background for almost every major scene in the house.
A quick look through residual M&J Instagram or Facebook pages will turn up dozens of photos from the show with my art in the background. The show left the air in 2016, though still popular, to make room for other types of programming to better fit with the network’s branding change from ABCFamily to Freeform.

Below is a scene from the upstairs hallway, which also featured several of my photographs, but was shown much less often. Seen here is a partial view of “The Enchanted Forest.”
And, below, you can see how the photographs can be seen even in behind-the-scenes photographs, like this one from a cast member birthday party found on Instagram.
And one more behind-the-scenes photo as the cast celebrates a milestone 100 episodes.
The three photographs from the Melissa and Joey stairs
Below are the three photographs most often seen on the show. Fine black and white prints can be purchased securely here, using links from Shopify. I never see your financial information, and it never even enters my server.
In addition to “Melissa and Joey,” my photographs have appeared in several other TV shows, like “Grey’s Anatomy,” lots of TV commercials, and even a major Hollywood movie. See all the photographs that have appeared on the small screen or big screen here.
