Most landscape photographers avoid rainy days. Not me. I love photographing a dark, rainy landscape.
Yes, rain presents technical problems, and it’s best to shoot once the rain has ended, because a hard rain can impact the sharpness of a landscape photograph, in addition to soaking your gear and yourself. But I love the soft light of a rainy day. I love the saturated colors, which still makes the image better for me, even though I am translating the rich tones into black and white.
I also love the sound, the freshness, the coolness of a rainy day, like this one filmed on a beautiful autumn day. Enjoy these two minutes of soft, quiet rain.
