Join me on a landscape photography day-trip that’s chock-full of wonders
In this video we photograph spectacular waterfalls, observe centipedes and millipedes walking around, go deep into the woods to visit a moonshine still site and a very old cemetery, look at an abandoned 1892 cotton mill, and watch swallowtail butterflies.

Behind the scenes photographs
Below are a few iPhone photographs shot behind the scenes on the day of this hike.
Since I was photographing the twin falls in harsh, high-contrast light conditions, I decided to embrace the contrast. I shot the scene two-stops darker than normal, holding the white highlights of the water and sending the shadow details to near black. See the results below.A centipede is minding its own business near the Spring Castle.A beautifully weathered old tree fallen in the woods, and spotted along one of the forest hikes. At the swimming hole, partially submerged cottonwood trees showered the vicinity with copious amounts of cottonwood fluff.
Bonus videos
More cottonwood fluff than I’ve ever seen before!
This video includes the entire walk through the woods to the site of the old Cunningham Cemetery.
My favorite video so far! I love old cemeteries too. Major tripod envy, by the way… đŸ˜‰
