This is a quick video made on location while I was photographing a low-river crossing, and happened to notice a small black-and-yellow butterfly wing. I struggled to retrieve it without damaging it, but managed to get it back indoors for a macro study.
I set the wing up in the studio with a slight amount of reflected backlight to help bring out the textures and illuminate some of its flaws.
